Day 6: Seeking God’s Will

Scripture

Matthew 6:33“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Prayer Prompt

“Lord, I come before You today with a heart that desires to seek Your kingdom first in every area of my life. Help me to prioritize Your will above all else, trusting that as I focus on Your righteousness, You will provide for my needs. Teach me to align my desires with Your purposes, and give me the wisdom and discernment to recognize Your guidance in my decisions. May my heart be fully surrendered to You, and may I live each day with a deeper longing to know and follow Your perfect will.”

Reflection

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus offers a simple yet profound invitation: seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and everything else will fall into place. The world constantly tells us to prioritize our own desires and plans, but Jesus reminds us that when we put God’s will first, He takes care of our needs. Seeking God’s will isn’t just about asking what He wants us to do; it’s about living with a heart that is focused on His purposes, trusting that His plan is better than our own.

Take a moment today to consider what it means to seek God’s will first. Are there areas in your life where you’ve been pursuing your own agenda rather than God's? Ask God to help you shift your focus back to Him, trusting that as you seek His kingdom, He will guide your steps and provide for you in ways that surpass what you can imagine.

Application

Today, make seeking God's will your first priority in every decision you face. Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek God’s kingdom and righteousness above all else, trusting that He will provide for our needs.

Start by pausing to pray before making decisions, big or small—whether it's in your relationships, work, or daily tasks. Ask God to align your heart with His will and guide your steps. Write down one area where you are unsure of God’s will, and take time to pray over it specifically, asking for clarity and direction.
