Day 21: A Heart For the Nations

Scripture

Revelation 7:9“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”

Prayer Prompt

“Father, we thank You for the beautiful vision in Revelation 7:9, where people from every nation, tribe, and language stand before Your throne, worshiping You in unity. Stir our hearts with a deeper passion for the nations and a longing to see Your gospel reach every corner of the earth. Help us to embrace Your heart for all people, transcending borders and differences, and to live with a sense of urgency and compassion for those who have yet to hear the Good News. Empower us to play our part in sharing Your love, whether through prayer, giving, or going, knowing that every soul is precious to You.”

Reflection

As you go about your day, take a moment to remember the vast, diverse multitude that will one day gather before God's throne, as described in Revelation 7:9. Ask yourself: How can I develop a heart for the nations today? Whether it’s praying for global missionaries, supporting efforts to reach the unreached, or simply reflecting on God's love for all people, let this vision stir your heart. Think beyond your immediate circle and consider how you can play a part in God's global mission—whether near or far—and live with a heart that seeks to share His love with the world.

Application

Today, take a step to expand your heart for the nations by praying for a specific country or people group who have not yet heard the gospel. You can use online resources (joshuaproject.net)  to learn about an unreached people group or pray for missionaries serving in a particular part of the world. If you feel led, consider supporting a global mission through prayer, giving, or involvement. As you go through your day, ask God to give you a deeper compassion for the nations and a sense of urgency in His mission. Remember, even small steps—like praying for the world—have eternal impact as we join in God’s global purpose.
