Making a Commitment
HOW CAN WE ENGAGE?
We will accomplish all that is on God’s heart if all of us do 100% of what God is asking us to do! Devote time to hearing from Him and then respond in faith. Here are three things we’d like you to do as a part of that process:
Pray
Pray for Renew Life Church. Pray that we would continue to know God’s heart for Renew Life—and that we would hear Him speak to us individually about our part specifically—and align our hearts with His. During every week of His Heart, My Heart, we will gather at 6:00am on Monday mornings at each campus for prayer (starting Monday, March 31). We will also provide daily prayer guides via email.
serve
There are many ways to serve as a part of the ongoing ministry of Renew Life Church. Find a place to serve and use your time and energy to bring heaven to earth right where we are
Commit
Sunday, May 4, is Commitment Sunday. What will you commit to on that day? Make your commitment based on spending time in prayer, consulting with your family, and stepping out in faith and obedience to God’s leading—knowing that He will provide.

We’ve begun pursuing our 7-City Vision by launching the Lubbock campus, and it’s time for the next set of strategic steps. Through His Heart, My Heart, we will (1) fund the next two years of ministry budgets for Midland and Lubbock campuses, (2) begin construction on the Lubbock building and make necessary improvements at the Midland building, and (3) plant RLC campuses in Odessa and Ireland, help launch the Amarillo church plant, and provide training and resources to pastors in India and the Philippines.

We’ve been preparing for this moment. Leaders have been trained and developed to the point where they’re ready to step into campus or church leadership, Specific opportunities for exponential impact in both the Philippines and India need investment now to continue the move of God’s Spirit happening there. And, the Lubbock campus desperately needs its own building rather than spending resources on rented facilities for both offices and services.

First, we’re asking you to pray. Renew Life has experienced the miraculous favor of God in the last 11 years. As we move into this next season, we need the Spirit of God to continue to move. Second, we’re asking you to consider serving on a ministry team at Lubbock or Midland—or helping with the church planting efforts. Third, we’re asking you to listen for God’s voice and respond in faith to whatever God tells you related to your financial resources and His Heart, My Heart. God has ordained for each of us to be a part of Renew Life at this specific moment—it’s time for us to respond to this divine appointment. It will take all of us responding in faith together to reach our goals.
Finally, we ask that you prepare to be amazed. We fully believe God is going to move in huge ways. Mark your calendar for Commitment Sunday on May 4 to witness how we as a church will come together to support this next season of ministry. It will be a defining moment of what God wants to do through Renew Life Church.

We are asking everyone to make a two-year (24-month) commitment. The fulfillment period for your commitment will begin in May 2025 and will culminate in April 2027.

His Heart, My Heart is about the vision for our church and our personal discipleship in giving as followers of Jesus. We believe that the local church is one of the most compelling missions to give toward, and we would love for you to make Renew Life Church your home and join us in the His Heart, My Heart initiative.

Beyond praying and serving, you may have stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past that He might be asking you to give during this time. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you. You can email Jonathan Sturgeon, our Executive Pastor, at jonathan@renewlifechurch.com. He is able to assist with all such gifts.

Yes. The investment from His Heart, My Heart will allow us to secure a loan to begin construction on the Lubbock campus building. In working with our business elders, we’ve identified the amount we’ll need for the initial down payment so that our monthly payment will fit within our ministry budget parameters.

All of the goals are critical for us to step fully into this moment of opportunity God has given us. We don’t look at any of the projects or goals as optional or at a lower priority level. Our faith-filled expectation is that we will reach our financial goals and be able to pursue all of these projects. Our leadership team (made up of the ministry elders and the business elders) will navigate any difficult decisions about priorities that may arise through thoughtful discussion and prayer.

Yes. It’s important to remember that $6.7 million of that goal represents our current ministry budgets for Lubbock and Midland, which are in line with our current giving patterns. For a church of our size and annual budget, this is a goal that will require us to stretch, sacrifice, and trust God, but it is reachable by April 2027.
